Here is some european showtrucks. Scania mostly. The last one is of a Scania longline. Can be ordered from Scania. Special built by Swempa's in sweden. There is one here in Norway, was unloading a month ago in the camp. Raining as hell, got no good pics of it

Why do Europeans prefer cabovers? Easier to maneuver in the cities?

Hey Copenhagen. It's a very simple answer to that question. It is our rules of load and lenght in Europe. The longer cab, the shorter loading area. Here in Norway we have got a smal extra in length because of our ferries. The fridge truck doors and the fridge aggregate/engine on the trailer crashes when u drive on to the ferries. So u need a longer drawbar in between the truck and trailer. So a truck and towed trailer(no lowboy) is max 19,5m/63,9 foot. In that lenght there is a maximum hight of the vehicle of 4,0m(13,12 foot), A maksimum widt of 2,5m(8,2 foot) and a maks loading lenght. I am not shure of the max loading lenght but for us apr 15m(49 foot). So if u by a truck like yours u loose loading area. Somebody that transports goods with a heavy weight pr volume can have a truck like yours. But that market is now so smal that the produsers don't offer those trucks anymore. And this is way u see all the trucks with a very high roof instead of a longer cabin.

That cabover looks like a shortened motor coach! They sure like lights over there!

Makes driving at night easier when you have a well lit road ahead of don't you think? But we have to admit it is also for the show aspect of it too, it's like the us trucks that seem to compete in longest wheelbase.

Ya gotta remember in some of those Scandinavian counties it gets dark real early, having good lights on a truck is a must. Here in Oz we generally chuck a couple of big spotties on the bullbar but clearance lights are pretty big, some of them are lit up like Christmas trees.
