My swing brake seems to work perfect for all parts of the swing cycle most of the time , some times it sounds like it drags a bit at low engine RPM but not enough to concern me . When filling the bucket today from one side of a large stockpile ,as the machine was forced away from the heap , the brake was tearing . If I move the swing lever towards or away from the stockpile by a little or a lot ,then the brake comes off and no tearing . The brake release is powered by 2 lines , 1 from the main spool valve block and 1 from the solenoid block . It needs pressure in both lines to release as far as I know . Does anyone have labeled diagram for the solenoid block or could anyone explain that side of the system . There is letters labeling the ports on the block but they are double dutch to me . The lines into the block are a bit random also . Please help .
Good day Volvomad The swing brake is normally released by three functions - Swing left & right - dIpper arm in, from your description I would suggest that the issue is not related to the swing brake more likely an main circuit issue. If the machine drags down while you are using multiple circuits take a close look at engine related power issues. View attachment EC210B-13.pdf
Thanks for your reply and diagram uffex . Power seems as it should as it drops noticably when fuel filters require changing . Like your diagram my digger has 2 brake release pipes . 1 from the safty lever via the solenoid valve block and one from the main valve chest . I dont think the solenoids have anything to do with it but i am not sure . Could there be a problem in the main valve chest ? Would it be dangerous to feed both release lines off the safty lever ?
Good day The ports should be marked PG = 40 bars servo pressure while the machine is running - SH is the release signal it is normally cross connected to the three functions. If you like to post me a photo of your transmission I will try to be of more help. Kind regards Uffex
I suggest that you check this with a pressure gauge you can then establish if indeed the issue is with the brake function.
Thanks uffex , will do . Just swamped with higher priority stuff for the next few days
The swing brake will be released when you use swing both left and right, and any of the front attachment functions. Boom raise/lower, arm in/out and bucket open/closed will all release the swing brake.
