hi the light on the side of the machine has stopped working. (not the one on the arm). I took it apart, but the bulb seems soldered to wires. Do I have to order the complete unit, as a replacement? thanks Phil
I would have started with the night switch, so your way ahead of the game. Did you refer to your machine trouble shooting section. Check the fuse panel might have its own fuse but i doubt it. I always play with the switch a lot for some reason, inspect the wire to the light base might be pinched or broken. A circuit tester is good to use for continuity sometimes the seal beam bulb will be dark discoloured, the filament will be broken inside (that's a sure sign). Once you determine it is the bulb turn the power off to that circuit off (Lock out procedure) Find the number on the back of the bulb or cut the wires (very close to the base of the light) and take the old one with you (make sure you tag and number the wires so you can put them back on)Go to the auto parts store and buy a new one (buy two the other one is on its way out also) and think of how you are going to connect it to the wires after they have been cut Check the back of the light has screw connections so you just have to trim the ends of the wire and reconnect them to the new light. Not to sure what kinda light base you have but it is mostly a bulb replacement program to a universal light base. (4 inch light base 4 inch light bulb) Maybe good time to upgrade the light.Things can go south pretty fast so have a buddy help you.
