I am wanting to buy a mobile excavators with road wheels in the USA. Excuse my ignorance, but why are 'continuous track' excavators more popular than mobile wheel excavators in the USA ? To my knowledge Caterpillar does not manufacture mobile excavators in the USA, but only in the UK and France. Why ? Thanks, Martin.
They simply cannot go all the places that track hoes can nor can they compare to the production of a track machine, in large part due to on site mobility. Work on hills and on soft ground is often impractical if at all possible with a wheeled excavator. There is a definite benefit to having a wheeled excavator. You can drive between jobs and working on asphalt isn´t a problem. What kind of work will you be doing?
I'm pretty sure you will find plenty of rubber ducks in the States if you look in the right places. Try the citys rather than the desert
most of the road commisions have them in michigan too clean ditches or what ever they need. just recently the county I live in bought a new cat model, and before that they had one of those huge old case badger machines.
My local excavation contractor has a volvo, and he loves it. You'll see it working roadside ditching jobs all over the local area. It seems it's perfectly suited for this.
Just a thought, has anyone ever seen some sort of wheeled carriage you could drive an excavator onto. Power it somehow from the track drive circuits. Make a track machine self roadable, no truck required. Just a thought, a crazy idea...
track drive Does anyone know any track drive manufacture in the United States? I done some research ,most of track drives come from japan, south korea and italy.
