Need some help on which button to push...No 1.What does the "bucket positioning" do...No 2. When should "high flow" be used...No 3. "maximum flow only" or "variable flow" and lastly "traction lock override" what does it do? I'm using a root grapple...this is on a 863 "G". I'm asking before just pushing them and going at it. I have downloaded the different manuels and it does not have anything about this.
Bucket positioning: that would be an option that may or may not be on your machine. It self levels the bucket as it's raising. High Flow: again, an option or standard on some Bobcat models, your machine may not have High Flow. Any case, you would only use high flow on attachments that require high flow. Max/Variable Flow: that's the type of control you select to operate attachments using the thumb lever on right drive lever knob. Max flow would position the aux hydraulics to output maximum flow when you operate the thumb lever, variable flow makes the thumb lever meter the amount of flow from very little to full max flow depending on the position you have the thumb lever. Traction Override: used when there's a fault in the electrical system that won't let you unlock the drive brake using the green enable button. It allows you to "override" the normal electronics of the machine and unlock the brake so you can drive it to an area to perform repairs.
Very nice explanation ATCO, the only thing I can add is the right button (Aux Pressure Release) may or may not be used on your machine depending on the year to release the hydraulic pressure so you can release the hydraulic couplers on your attachment. The way to find out is to hold the button in for a few seconds and the machine will turn off. Newer machine allow you to push the whole fitting on the outside of the machine and it will release the pressure.
Thanks again ATCO, I don't have bucket poistitioning or high flow... everything else works great
Sounds good. That keypad is used on many Bobcat models, with and without these options. Don't forget to use that pressure release button as Bill said when connecting and disconnecting attachments, makes things work much better.
