s185 wiper motor

so our wiper arm broke and the wiper got stuck. i knew the motor was still trying to move the wiper so i shut the machine off and then turned it back on assuming that would make it stop trying to move the wiper. well i fixed the wiper arm and now the motor doesnt go. did the motor burn itself out trying to continue running when the wiper wouldnt move? it really should be smarter than this. all of the fuses are still good.

Did you turn off the wiper switch? If you didn't and the motor ran for an extended period of time it might have burned out. Or....perhaps now, you need to turn the switch on. Its over your left shoulder in the most awkward place the Bobcat engineers could think of.

yep i turned off the switch. i assume the motor is burned out. and i assume u cant buy just the motor for the wiper... im sure you have to pay like $200 for a motor assembly at least. thats questionable if the wiper is worth that to me. parts prices are outrageous these days. i needed a fore aft seat damper for one of the tractors today. it is just a small 6 inch long by 1 inch wide shock absorber. they said $240 bucks and i told them i dont need it that bad. i will just lock the seat in place. anyone know where i can get a cheaper one? it looks pretty standard to me.

I just bought a wiper motor on Ebay for our old Bobcat. I got the Bosch number that was stamped on the motor itself. Got an exact replacement that was a take off from a combine. The sweep angle had to be adjusted by moving a pin on the plastic gear.
