We had our truck at the shop for about a month getting work done to the dump bed. They cut the whole front of the bed and cab protector out and put new in. The front of the bed was pushed out a little and when you were inside the cab and looked back you could see into the bed. It rusted through from when the truck used to plow/salt. The salt water got down behind the angle iron and just ate it away. So we got that fixed and decided to sandblast the whole bed while it was there too. Heres a few pics. Also when the truck was there someone stole about 50 gallon of fuel out of the tanks. Next time we'll pump it out ourselves before we take it there.
Nice! Looks Sharp
nice to see you put plywood on the inside, hate to see a fresh paint job all dimpled up. looks good:thumbsup
This truck has had plywood on in it since day one back in 95.
Looks really nice Nate! But what is it with you PA guys and the bibs that stretch all the way to the front bumper? Are the loader operators that bad up there?
must be haha
I always thought the long splash guard was for storage for things like wheel barrels and such. Other than that, maybe a giant sun shade? :cool2
Im not sure the exact reason behind the long cab protector, but your right it does seem to only be around PA that iv seen it anyway. But like mentioned wheelbarrows can be put there and it does keep some sun off the cab. Plus i think it looks good that way.
I always thought it was for climbing up there with a lawn chair and gettin a tan at lunchtime.
