Hello all, I recently started helping my father in law with his 14c and we are attempting to fix the side movement of his blade. We have welded new ends on the push arms and fixed some other issues with pins and tie rods. We have some new bushings coming but so far have not had any luck tightening it up. Can someone here please offer some advice on what else can be done to prevent the blade from shifting sideways so much. It is a semi-u blade with a tie rod equalizer system. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
Hi T.O.M. The new bushings should help, another thing to do is shim the pocket up tight where the blade arm pins to the blade.I usually just cut out some washers using say 1/4" thick steel.Even if you have new bushings if there is sideplay at the blade arm pin the blade will still be sloppy.
Td25c, thanks for the reply. We shimmed the arm pins when we first put it back together but there is still about an 1/8" of play on each arm pin, we will try to shim that up more when we get the bushings in and go from there. Thanks again.
Sounds good T.O.M. Im guessing the new bushings will fix it.
