Flow restrictors

Orchard Ex ยท 2010-07-16 16:17

My buddy got a new rotating grapple for his CTL and the rotator speed is way too fast. It supposedly has a flow restrictor in place already but needs a smaller one. Is there any formula or rule of thumb to figure out what size to get or is it just trial and error?

This right here will fix you up Orchard Ex. Parker adjustable needle valve. You can pick one up at most any hose shop. Just dial it in until you achieve the desired speed of the unit, then it has a set screw to lock the valve in that position so it will work at the set speed everytime. http://www.drillspot.com/products/41262/Parker_N600B_Needle_Valve?s=1

8 Gpm at 2000 psi seems a little weak for the machine. Depending on the model... 20ish gpm @ 3000 psi.
