ford 555c backhoe/loader diesel does anyone know how to turn up the diesel pump on a ford 555c diesel does not have very much power & would like to turn pump up a notch. thank you for any help
I would first with a helper, have them sit in the seat with the engine off, hold the foot pedal on the floor while you look at the linkage at the pump, a lot of the linkages get worn and will not allow the throttle to go to the stop. If it does not hit the stop, repair the worn parts in the linkage. Also if repair is done to the linkage, make sure there is no pressure against the pump shaft when in the full fuel range ( pedal stop bolt or linkage adjustment). Also check the fuel flow from tank, filters, turbo if used and air filter, they all can rob power, just turning up the fuel may not be what you need.
