How do i flush/drain the steering hyd. Oil . ?
The hard way. You'll have to crack the lines and let it go Haz Mat . I wouldn't worry about the steering motor. There's not enough oil in there to worry about. You can crack the lines at the bell housing and engine seam to take care of it.
Bell housing is the pump body ,you mean to say.? The return line is going into it there . Thanks for the reply .
No, the soft lines going to/coming from the steering motor should terminate at hard lines right in the vicinity of the rear of engine, front of transmission. If you break them there, the oil in the steering motor will empty out onto the ground. You'll have to crack the lines at the pump reservoir and also at the steering cylinders in order to drain most of the rest of the fluid. Kind of sucks but at least you're doing it. Most people just run them until they self destruct or they have to work on a component somewhere in the system. Hope this helps.
This will be a gravity drain then. I was going to start the hoe and pump the old miky oil out on the return line @ the pump return port. Also was going to be adding oil as it was draining until clear looking fluid was coming out and then just stop there . Thanks for the ideas check break.
