Hello Everyone I have a ford 655c backhoe loader , alternator not charging, put new one on and nothing, the same problem not charging. The charging light does not come on when the key is turned on. Charging bulb checked 100% working. After charging the battery, the excavator starts but does not charge the battery. have any of you had this problem?
Be sure the battery sensor is hooked up correctly, also check all wires on the alt. and see if there is a jumper wire to excite the field. It is very difficult to trace the wires or to get the colors after so many years. I have the service book and it is a great help, but still many issues I have had with charging.
