JLG 600 with Ford LRG 425 year 2000 crank no spark first time put in new cam sensor and used board, worked. now has quit again. checked all continuity in circuits. bought new style PCM but still no spark. sent old board and new board to Engine Distributors in New Jersey to flash it. Both boards checked out good. what do I look for now?
make sure no air restrictions, Check make sure you have fuel pressure should be around 60-65 psi if I remember. Check fuel filter make sure not plugged. Check engine coolant sensor the ecu uses this sensor first to figure out air/fuel mix. Ohms at 77 degrees should be 30,000 at 50 degrees 58,987. Check compression should be around 180-210 psi on these engines, if it’s low drop some oil in the cylinders and see if it improves . If it does the rings are worn. If your compression dosent improve probably a head gasket ive have had to do head gaskets on two of these . One of them would start and run for awhile then quit .
Engine coolant sensor is correct ohms. Machine runs on both gas and propane. Was using gas when it quit and will not start on propane, either. No signs of compression going bad. Just one day started and ran about 30 seconds and shut down. Has no spark.
Have you actually checked the compression? I wouldn’t do anything else unless you have done a compression check , do you have the efi troubleshooting manual?
