4 bolt flange (small) can't even find a kit, while using the carb numbers. I am thinking 60's to 70's

Is the carb full of junk or worn out? Matching the last carb numbers is tough https://www.ebay.com/itm/315788050798 looks close. but that's 80s

So what happened to your carb?

Has a hard time idling, must have dirty jets. can't find a kit, and don't want to chance tearing gaskets when taking the carb apart. May try to blow out the orifices in the top of the carb and the idle jet.

Hmm if it has a fuel filter it should not have too much of an issue with dirt. You might have a manifold gasket leak or another misfire issue. If you can start the engine, warm it up enough to run and run a little garden hose over the intake system and listen for a change or you might hear it sucking. could also be a low voltage or ignition misfire.

found a close looking carburetor with a manual choke- maxspeeding brand- had to remove a spacer from under the original- it was a velocity governor with a throttle butterfly. Interesting note- the governer block/spacer had only one port for the engine intake, but the actual intake had 2 throttle ports, the replacement carb used the port hole that was blocked by the governor adapter! Got it running and it sounds fine, will have to make some fuel line & throttle linkage changes.
