HEF has been bombarded with DOS (denial of service) attacks over the last 24-48 hours from an unknown source. That's the reason the site times out when you try to log in or get an error message. The techs are on it and the Forum software is doing it's job.
Is it a true DDOS or spammers trying to register accounts using bots?
It was a true DOS attack. 5 million hits in 72 hours.
Maybe I'm just stupid, but what do they have to gain by doing this?

It had to do with the equipment scammer thread. Big $$ in scamming people over fake equipment sites and when that is disrupted they get very angry. These scammers are located all over the world and scam millions from gullible people here in the US thinking they got a deal of a lifetime on a CTL or mini-ex.
