Fuel System Issues? Cat 416B 3054 DT

EDIT: S# 8ZK01991X best I can tell. Plate painted. Starts right up. Runs good then loses power but continues to idle. Sometimes will die if under full power and I don't catch it in time. When it dies, won't restart right away. Tried starting fluid. Will kick right away but may not continue to run. Replaced fuel filter. Fuel transfer pump seems to be working as designed when manually pumping. Fuel bowl still has fuel. Have bled air from injectors. All fuel fittings I can get to appear tight. Has plenty of fuel in tank Next steps? Replace fuel pump? Have an electric fuel pump but haven't figured out best location and it's a push pump not a pull pump. Fuel lines are in the top of the tank. Injector Pump?

Have you looked at the fuel tank and/or supply line to the filter for the presence of water/sediment.? Have you pulled the filter head(s) apart and blown through them with compressed air to ensure all the internal passages in the casting are clear.? If you want detailed information in regard to the fuel system on your particular machine please post the machine Serial Number.

Also check the inlet line to the fuel injection pump. The banjo fitting might well contain a fine screen that (if fitted) is known to get blocked.
