Hello all, first post in this forum, hoping to pick some brains as the charging system on this lift is beating me so far. I have a 2014 genie z60 as stated, and the alternator decided to short itself out and try to catch fire a few weeks ago. Ordered a replacement, and of course the posts are different. Of course i attempter to put the wires back in the same places, however when doing so, the machine would not shut off. Found a fried emergency switch, replaced that, and now the machine runs and stops as it should, but the alternator is not charging. When i received the alternator, the post of course were not labeled. After some testing, i found the charge output, however i cannot get it to actually charge the machine. Wondering if i have to tie together both the small wire i have connected and the D+ to get it to charge with the new alternator. Pictures attached for reference.
