Need help identifying what this is I have, what it may be worth and how to sell. It's been on my property for years and finally need it gone!
Google brings up another thread here if you haven't seen that one. Old pull type graders hold their value fairly well compared to other old equipment and farm machinery. They're still useful and can't be replaced with cheap 3 point versions. If you figure out how to post a picture, or post a link to a similar picture, we could give you some guesses.
Here are some pictures... Thanks for the help!
Interesting it was made in Galion Ohio, wonder if this is the beginning of the Galion graders?
According to the other thread and the net, Gledhill is still in business and still in Galion. I'd call that a road drag, or maintainer of some sort. A little more specialized than a single blade grader and not as useful IMHO. I've seen similar pull graders go for up to $500 or $1,000 for really large heavy duty blades. Those four rubber tires are a negative also, the only thing close to that size is motorcycle tires, or put steel wheels on it. That would be useful to somebody that has a long gravel driveway (or roads) to maintain, and wants it flatter than you can get easily with a grader. Should be able to get a few hundred for it, maybe more if you find the right buyer. Craigslist, Fleabay if you do that, local bulletin boards, anything that gets the picture in front of eyeballs. It's not that big or heavy, so once somebody has it on a trailer it's just hours of driving, so distance isn't as big a drawback as something like a dozer. Is that a hydraulic cylinder in the middle of the middle picture?
Thanks for the reply! Yes it appears to be some sort of hydrolic pump. Once again not familiar with this sort of thing so I appreciate it!
