I have searched all over the forum for who you guys would buy an attachable root rake from and have not really found the answer. Who makes good quaility attachements (root rakes). USA Attachments has a rake that has AR 400 steel teeth. Has anybody had any dealings with USA or any of their products. Also does anyone know about Solesbee or North American Attachements. Thank you for your time.
rockland mfg. does as good as anyone
diamond manf. atoka, ok 580-889-6202. or try vail in kansas.
I've been looking at rakes online for a while, and also thought the Rockland looked good. I was thinking of the SR series pin-on that has a raised guard for my D6c. http://www.rocklandmfg.com/Images/PDFs/Rakes.pdf There are quite a few makers/styles out there...some light weight, others look extremely tough. I'd also like to hear what models work well.
http://bluediamondattachments.com might have what you're looking for. Never know.
I've ran a td15e with a rockland BR that worked well. Employer also had a br for his d5g, worked well there too.
I haven't had any experience with the root rakes from USA Attachments, but i have got a few other items from them and have been very happy with the products and service.
solesbee has a real good rake. with rockland not far behind. The only suggestion I would make is to have a good idea of what size one you want. That includes spacing of the tines, hight of tines relative to bottom of blade and to ground, bushings location of where it attaches to the blade, and weight. I have seen people get mad after they have bought one and complain they can't see it. Specially on a u or semi u blade.
solesbee's builds a good quality rake but the downfall is that their angles are set wrong for really raking and getting the dirt out, watch my youtube videos and you can see how well it works now after the rebuild http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8O4d5JpyKH8
Hi everyone, this my first post. I got USA attachments to build a rack for my fiat allis 16b semi u-blade. Seems very well built and works well.
Fleco has a good product line. I've seen good results loader rakes, dozer rakes, buckets and quick changes.
I have seen a few show up on the Ritchie auctions.
Bringing this one back. Need one for my JD550G LGP. Any suggestions? Dont really wanna be cutting a rake apart and resetting angles and so forth. Most all of them look the same, Rockland, Fleco, Solesbee. The USA attachments actually looks the stoutest to me but I dont know anything about them. Diamond in Oklahoma looks the kinda puny to me.
I've got one that was made by Kenco Mfg for a D4G XL that I would sell. http://www.kencomfg.com/ You can look at theirs by clicking on the link and then going to Combination Rakes where it says "Choose your destination". Mine looks like the one in the picture on the left. It's built very well. I bought it new in 2009 and used it to rake 60 acres in an old German POW camp in Ft Hood after I cleared it. I've used it on about 150 acres total. I gave $2200 for it new and would take $1000 for it now cause I sold my little dozer. I'm 3 hours west of you near Waco. Come look at it if you want.
How wide is it total width? Also how wide is your blade total. thanks
I'll have to get some measurements on it.
Okay yeah I meant to measure mine yesterday and forgot. If you can email me some pics to [email protected] I would appreciate it. Im in the market.....not just a tire kicker. thanks
we used to run a fleco, the solesbee's that we rebuilt was changed to the angles that the fleco had......
Got the rake measured OK, that rake is 94 inches wide. From pin to pin it's 90 inches. Shanks are 12.5 inches long below the cutting edge. From the angle iron at the bottom where your cutting edge rides, it's about 46 inches up to the pin hole.
Ok, the narrowest part of my blade is 115". Didnt measure top to bottom. So I would need to mount the pins at around the 46" mark? Pics to [email protected] if you can please. Waco is close but not that close.
kenco root rake do you still have the root rake or is it sold?
Remco rakes are excellent in my opinion. I have one on a D4H right now and have used them on D6Rs. Although they may be a little on the heavy side, they are very strong and they protect the whole surface of the blade. They are shaped to the contour of the blade. Not sure but I believe mine came out of atlanta. Never seen anyone on here with one like it.
Heres a older pic of it on my dozer
i sure like the looks of that landworks.i havent seen many pusharm d4h's ......around here most are pat's
Yeah! Ive only seen a couple like it ever. Sometimes I wish it was a vpat, but it is strong. We have repainted it since that picture. I wouldn't trade that little dozer for anything!
what year is that? i notice it looks like the light are in the grill, i have a '96 d4h xl3 with pat, and lights are outside the hood. my old man's beat one of them up already.mines a open station, a cab sure would be nice. is that the decal kit you get if you order a set from cat now, it looks quite different then mine.
have a cat d4c with 8' blade looking for a root rake here in Texas d9gdon is your still for sale? thanks
It's an 87 model. Yeah the lights are inside the grill on the eariler models. I had the power edge decals custom made for it. The cab and limb risers really add alot to it I think.
Does anybody know a ballpark figure for what one of these rakes would cost new to fit a D7G?
$2700-$4000 shipped, if i remember correctly....matters on the company and width.
Yeah toward the higher end of that now im sure, especially for the remco rakes, bought one for a D6R around 6 or 7 years ago and it was around $4500 even then. The one on the D4H was 3200 i believe.
Root Rake angle?????? Hey Bradyhill1. Hope you are still out there and see this. I run a JD650H and am looking for a pin on Root Rake. I see that you mention the modification of the "ANGLE" of the Rake in your post. Since I have been looking/shopping, (about 2 weeks), I keep noticing most "pin on" Rakes are just basically vertical iron in front of the blade with the teeth being the only thing angled! I keep telling myself that is just not going to roll or turn over the load as it is being pushed. Then I saw your post about your "angle" modification. It seems to me that most of the companies are just making a Rake the easiest and cheapest way possible without any regard to the efficency or exact purpose of it just to have a Rake in their lineup of products. I would love to hear from you on your thought process about the angle. I also saw one other post of someone saying angle is everything in the Rake. Or maybe tell me I am over thinking this!
