Hi Folks, my name is Martyn and i live on the north Kent coast 70 miles east of London. i have been involved all my life in plant in one way or another. I started off way back in 1969 operating JCB's, had about a year in a local sand pit then off into plant hire, mainly on JCB backhoes/loaders, Hymac's, and Poclains, going on to Hitachi's, Komatsu's, and everything else the far east sent to our shores. My main hobby has allways been modelmaking, but got fed up with doing kits, so i started scratch building, mainly r/c ships, then one day i jumped down from a cab of Komatsu 210 and bust my ankle, no work, no pay,:crazy so i started making scratch built JCB's and sold them on, so i formed Kent contruction plant models, we did the 22BE's amongst other things, but due to one thing and another i packed up and went back operating, from mini diggers to an O&k RH 200 in a open cast mine, that was so boring, bigger the machine the more boring the work i think... so that was up to two years ago, but by now we had the eastern european's coming over here by the truck load :Banghead , given safety licences and undercut the wages, so i am back now making vintage digger models for a living. So thats a brief outline of life so far, i still have the odd day out now and again operating to keep the log book up to date so i dont loose my licence, but driving machines these days is such a different game to all those years ago when i first started out. Best regards Martyn
