gs 1930 platform problem

El neto ยท 2019-03-02 22:20

hi guys, been checking a platform lift a gs 1930, only readable info on plate is pin 1A01111100., the problem is this lift has relatively new batteries, full of electrolyte, fully charged, everything is working fine, up, down, left right ..so on, BUT ...control shows 6 leds of full charge, once i move the platform the charge shows 5 in a minute or less, than 4 , once i stop itll show 5 again, if i continue to use it for like 10 minutes itll go as far down as 1 and go into crawl mode...the thing is batteries show 24.8 volts, the ecu shows error 2, the controller shows er 01, despite the errors the codes the lift works fine, except when i use it the way i described above...what ive checked....continuity from controller to ecu -fine.....pothole circuit and lift- fine....level sensor fine...i have even opened up the ecu to see if theres any water damage and the controller as well....any pointers

Have you load tested all 4 batteries individually to see if you have a weak one falling out under a load? Your only as strong as your weakest battery

As said above, open the battery box and use a meter to test each of the batteries (still hooked up and plugged in) and run your lift functions to see how far voltage for each drops. If one goes lower than the rest, you'll want to replace them all as a set. Report back with what you find and can go from there.

One other thing is battery connections. Make sure they are not corroded or oxidized. Bad connections will cause weird things and codes.

Thanks guys, sorry it took me so long to respond...this what ive done to date...replaced batteries for new, replaced circuit board inside joytick (thinking that it was misreading charge in new batteries), took out and had the motor controller checked which showed a short inside from a screw to a capacitor...had all of them replaced and than today i reinstalled it thinking i was done, oh big surprise!, it did the exact !=/\# thing!!... So im back to square one...with one new detail that i didnt mention, when i put the cable on the battery post, with everything off...it sparks (thats the reason i took out the motor controller thinking it was a short or the capacitors discharging)...that my friends is my sad story in a nut shell

You could have the black motor controller going bad .Also if had the estops pulled out it will cause you to get a arc being the machine is powered up .I will look at the book in the morning. On the left side of the machine the serial number will stamped into the frame of the chassis.

Thanks a lot guys, i neglected to mention some things, i did a voltage drop on all the supply wires with zero drop, the batteries didnt pass the gravity check...and i have replaced the joystick...were in the process of replacing all the mosfets inside the controller, seeing that a new controller takes a whole month to come in...and its a china one... As far as the serial number, the darn thing is so faded and painted over so many times the only thing i can make out is the model and that meaningless (at least to every parts distribuitor ive talked to) 1a0000 crap, i do appreciate every idea you guys ate throwing at me, it seems to me its a team effort
