hey guys well ive done a little research and have come up empty handed so thought i would turn to you guys to see if anyone could help me out. im curious to know what year my case 850c is and an aprox value i bought it a few years back and dont really use it so thinking of selling it or trading it but would like to get a good starting point for value. serial number on the plate says 7400564 sometimes the year is inside the serial number so i was thinking its a 74 or a 64?? could be wrong tho.
I would say 1981-1982 in that s/n range. Lots of factors on pricing. Depending on the market, dealer support, paint, engine/trans condition, track system wear, blade wear, leaks. You may check Rock & Dirt, Machinery Trader, Richie Bros Auction and so on for some idea of asking price to start at. If you have a dealer in the area, say you are thinking of up grading and would like a fair market value opinion, some may have a customer looking that your machine would fit there needs. Always start higher than your asking, and be able to knock some off to your sale price that you feel is fair. I would not do owner finance unless you can afford repairs if it were to go south with the new owner and get it back, or misplaced MIA.
