Help needed

I have a 1996 Case 850 G. Wondering what this container is ? Its under the blad control joystick.

    I believe it's a lube oil reservoir for something on the transmission if I remember correctly

    Thanks. It's empty. Wondering how I can find out what/if any needs to be in it. . Just discovered it during routine maintenance.

    If you have an operators manual it should tell you what fluid it takes and how often to check it
