Well, im new to the site Have a 120-5 here that im having trouble with. She wont hold a charge at all. Theres a new starter gone into it and it takes very little to start it when it does get a jump. Iv taken off all other wires that go to the battery so they are not draining power. Anybody else have this problem?? Any help appreciated Thanks
With the info provided... I'd guess batteries or a poor battery cable connection. I haven't experienced a lot of parasitic drains on excavators.
thanks for the reply Its supposed to have got new batteries (dont know if both were new or just one) Is there any chance it may be a faulty battery?
If you have one bad battery it will drain down the good battery. Also check the alternator is not draining the battery when the unit is off .With unit off put a test light betwen the battery nagative and ground .Pull fuses one by one and see if one makes the test light go out .That would be the draw that is kill the batteries. It would be constant drain on them.
thanks for that, going to give that a try and i will let ye know how it goes. Thanks again!
