Hendrickson steerable lift axle SCT13E04XVAX1X After doing king pins on it, the wheels wont point forward when axles are up. They run straight and fine when they are down. Each side has perfectly normal movement when tie rod bar is detached. You can also move the wheels back to center with your bodyweight while they're up, its like they just don't want to go back to center by themselves. This set up has only shocks, no springs to absorb movements. Would converting them to spring fix this issue or just create another issue?
Two issues---The flat bar tie rod has been upgraded to a regular round tube type with allot better tie rod ends, that flat flat bar type is no good wears tires. Second the reason the tires go back to angled when lifted is the tie rod was tightened in that position {common}. Plus the steering rebound shocks--Those are Part# HR-009600--if one side is weak it will also cause same issue. Change those in pairs. Anti-Seize the mounting bolts. * When you changed the king pins--you did make sure and leave enough clearance with shims & thrust bearing?. These ST 13's are easy to get set too tight.
