This whole thing is a big d--- joke. This is all about the manufacturers getting the politicians writting into law that we need it and keep changing the specifications every couple of years so we have to keep buying the d--- stuff new real often. This is about sales and profits for the manufacturers and safety for anyone. The whole safety equipment industry is the same deal.
I dont like the reflective tape,, tough to see hand signals when the sun or lights are reflected back into your eyes. When you see a person walk onto a job site that has a vest on before the advent of every one wearing one , it was noticeable.. Now everyone has one so they are not as stand out-ish as if a few were on the job... just part of the landscape... but for highway or other traffic areas, your visual presence to motorists may be enhanced.. but inside a building it's just another person that blends in with the surroundings .. several hundred people running around ,,, with various types of forklifts,,, all that orange just as well be black.. once you get used to hivis it disappears from your awareness vision ...
