Hello. Could a low/standard flow machine with 23 gpm of flow run a high flow brush cutter that has a recommend flow rate of between 20 and 30 gpm, or would it not be compatible? 90% of the cutting time would be spent cutting grass and small brush under 1". Thanks
If the brush cutter has a casedrain and your machine doesn't then no.
Grass takes up flow. Brush does not. You'll be winding it up to speed, and then move forward, cut some, and it will slow down. Lather Rinse Repeat However, your machine at 23 gpm appears to be in the recommended range. So you may be just fine, might have to slow down your travel speed a wee bit.
My machine has a case drain, but the brush cutter does not. Not planning on setting any speed records or doing real large areas either, so it sounds like I should be ok.
You wouldn't hurt anything by running it on a low flow machine. Performance wont be what the mower is capable of, but your aware of that.
