Hitachi EX 120 slew problem

banditbear ยท 2011-05-09 18:35

My fathers Hitachi EX120 dash 2 has a problem when slewing around slowly it will only slew about 4 feet when going slowly and it stops and the engine cuts down to auto idle even though the lever is still pulled slightly for slow slew.It feels like the slew brake comes on if you give it more lever it revs up and moves with a clunk it slews fast no problem all other functions are working normally. It seems like a sensor or electrical problem any help appreciated

    Check your swing pressure sensor.

I have a Hitachi UH041 9 tonner. I slew to the left and it does not brake[stop]? Took the head off the slew and swapped it around think it may be full of junk but no change. Then was told it was in the controller-- this has lever going in & on the otherside has a spring valve but I do not have a workshop manual? Not sure how to get it out or if this is the problem. I adjusted the lever arms underneath but still no change. Any help appreciated
