We have a Hitachi EX100-2 excavator and it bogs down under load. We replaced the angle sensor. We are not sure how to adjust it to increase the voltage. Any help would be appreciated.
To adjust the angle sensor, first unplug the 2 solenoids on top of the pump and run the machine a few minutes to get the swash plate to maximum. Shut off engine. Pierce the signal wire, I think it's the middle one in the plug. Key on, check voltage between that wire and ground. Loosen the 2 bolts holding the angle sensor just loose enough so you can twist it back and forth with some resistance so it will stay where you put it. When you get 4.4 volts, tighten the 2 bolts, plug in the solenoids, seal up where you pierced the wire. When you first installed the angle sensor, did you make sure the punch mark was opposite the harness? Good luck.
When it bogs down is there black smoke out the exhaust? Just worked on a ex120-2, the customer was sure it had an electrical problem, I got there and wasn't a whisp of black smoke when it bogged down. Cleaned the junk out of the fuel inlet banjo plastic screen and it runs like a clock, 15mins and one very happy customer!
