Hitachi Ex60 – Hitachi Ex75 Help

Anto Modded ยท 2009-03-08 17:53

Hope this is in the right sectin. Im looking into getting a Hitachi Ex75 over a Hitachi Ex60 cause of the benifits of the zero tail swing, blade and off set boom. Just want to know if any one has a ex60 or ex75 same as in the picture with the same boom and dipper arm as i would like to know the difference in reach and digging dept between the two. Doesnt look like a mad difference if any but would be nice to know. Anyway here is the 2 photo's just to give you an idea of what im on about.

I have an ex60-5 and I don't think there is much difference in digging depth between the two. The blade is really nice to have for stability-especially digging out stumps, or working on a slope.--also for pushing material when pond digging. Zero tail swing gets you into tighter spaces but lack of counterweight means harder to swing material uphill. Stay away from articulated boom unless you really need it.--just more topweight and more stuff to break down.

I have an EX60 URG, with blade and offset boom, Love it. Sips gas, very dependable. Its 1991, 3700 hrs. The blade is great for all the reasons listed above and I smooth a lot of driveways I punch in. Offset boom helps in tight places. Guess it comes down to price, condition, hours on machine. Cant go wrong. You can see it on youtube, type wardiker in the search.

Ive seen you vid on youtube a few times.....nice machine. Its the offset boom that appeals to me for digging beside a wall etc, i know it adds weight but the boom is shorter and so is the dipper slightly.

not yet im a slow geet and work is vertually dead over here. doing 2 days a week in a 1987 2wd sitemaster clearing land for a guy. Its his machine, he needs a bigger machine but aint got the money to hire as he can only afford me for 2 days a week. Ill get longer out of it but jcb is very annoying, always moving in the seat, hard to beat a 360 degree. I would deffo go and get a ex60 if i could get it in but i have nothing else lined up. Have hi tip track dumper only done 1 weeks work since new and a 1 ton digger with 900hrs................was thinking of trading them in off an ex60 as they just lye in the shed. I'd rather a ex60 lying around to be honest
