Hitachi Joysticks – Advise please

Bosvark Kzn ยท 2015-05-08 11:06

My Hitachi Zaxis 200-1 developed a problem today, when busy working, the joysticks become hard to the point where it is almost impossible to operate, if the operator switches the machine off and wait a while, everything is back to normal, but not for long. I'll appreciate any advise on where to start looking for the cause of it. My guess is the pilot pressure goes too high for some reason?

Good day Bosvark Suggest you begin by checking the drain or tank pressures from the remote controls, this should be very low, it sounds as if you have a component leaking high flow into the drain line. Regards Uffex

Hi Uffex, thanks for the advise, I'll check it out in the morning. You think the pressure valve in the oil cooler outlet pipe can cause it? Regards

Good day Bosvark The remote control lever rely on a very low return line pressure, if for example the case drain filter becomes blocked it will make the RCV,s become very stiff to operate. Often a swing motor can have the same drain, when a partial failure occurs and the oil heats the case drain has to cope with more fluid result the pressure increase's. If you would prefer machine specific information we will try to find it, drop me a line if you would like us to hunt it out. Kind regards Uffex
