Recently purchased a hitachi 225 excavator for use around my property. I've always wanted a hoe pack for pounding posts but could never justify the purchase for how many I need to do until now. I've found very good deal on one (500$) but it's for a 30 ton weight class machine. Knowing next to nothing about how these things work is it possible to adapt this to my machine? The actual mounting isn't a problem just don't know if its capable if running it. The model is Rockram hpc 80. Thanks
You will need to find out what the required gpm is for that unit. Most Hoe pack manufacturers websites will have a specification chart showing the GPM required for their units. Is your machine plumbed with aux. hydraulics? If so does it have a line that goes directly back to tank? Hoe pack return lines cannot go through the control valve on their way back to tank. Then you will need to find out how many gpm are available from your machine, the dealer might be able to tell you or you can hook up a flow meter and test it. Hope this helps a bit.
