Just wondering, if a 20 ton machine needed cylinders, pistons or seals changed, how much do they weigh? How do one change it in the field?
With a crane on a service truck unless you had other equipment available. If I had to do it, it would be by any mean necessary with the equipment that I had.
Might have to invent the trailer bitch mounted winch
We never remove the cylinders , leave the barrel on the machine & just pull the rod assembly out . Rod probably weighs 150 pounds . Have a buddy around to give a hand with it . HeavyEquipmentForums And grab a couple chain hoists . http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200640600_200640600 We use those chain hoists all the time on different jobs . Come in really handy .
