good job...looks like you broke into the soft stuff just below the surface and like we all do we dont stop at first and keep digging deeper, usually lifting the front and putting logs under the tracks and then go forward and get yourself on a solid base then lay logs in the trenches to back out if your not too deep in...I got stuck and threw a track..talk about fun to get out...
If you stopped before going back and forth until you completely buried it, you could have simply tied a log across the bottom back of the tracks with a couple chains and backed out as the log pulled under and lifted the machine up and back. But that great looking and sounding classic D8 Cat got to strut its stuff.
We have a little Case dozer on the incoming line where they got it stuck deep and then when pulling it out the right side final drive ripped away from the machine
nothing like a CAT on the prowl looking for a victim
ouch that musta hurt!!!! I watch some of the youtube videos of stuck equipment and some of the farm tractors rip right in half as they get pulled out of the mud...when I bought my dozer they guy( also my neighbor down the road) said if you ever get stuck..STOP and shut machine off before you bury it up to the belly pan and cause a suction effect..best advice he gave on that..
