Got a gehl ctl70. Essentially it's a Takeuchi ctl70, but the ac is mounted by gehl. The upper bolt broke off inside at least 1 inch deep. Any ideas how to get it out?
You'll need a sleeve in the hole, then drill out with a LH drill bit. If lucky, the bit will grab it.
Stick a plastic straw or tube in the hole. Turn your welder down low and use an 1/8 7018 rod........push it into the straw until it strikes on the end of the bolt and hopefully it sticks good. Bend the end of the rod to make a handle and twist it out. This has worked many times for me providing the threads aren't too tight.
I only have a mig welder. May try the reverse drill bit first I suppose... Does the Takeuchi ac mount the same way? I've had the ac mount bolts come loose in the past. Wondering if a Takeuchi mount is more secure than gehls?
The TL140 Takeuchi engineered compressor setup has rear exit lines, AND mounts on the other side of the engine. Having 3 TL150 machines, the early one with improvised mounts was a PITA to keep mounted. Finally, redid it like the later 2 of ours. But, both early and late were on same side of the engine. My TB180FR machines were same way, 1 and 3 late style, but that was regarding the idler pulley setup and the alternator jack screw tightener (actually, the lack thereof).
