Hi getting a little bamboozled with Cat seal kits .I an looking for a wheel lean cyl kit to suit a g series grader S/N 3wc 1303 while very little info on SIS tells little info numbers ive obtained are 246- 5917 would these be correct Thanks
Pedro, the answer is that it all depends what Part Number of wheel lean cylinder you have. There are 3. 246-5917 is the correct seal kit for a 9T-2520 Cylinder Group (3.5" bore x 6" stroke). 246-5914 would be the correct kit for either a 3G-4752 (5.9" stroke) or an 8J-5539 (5.8" stroke) cyl gp. On checking the 246-5917 Kit actually contains more seals in total than the 246-5914, so it would work for any of the 3 cylinder Part Numbers. Just that if you used it with the 2nd or 3rd Part Numbers of cylinder you'd have an O-ring, a backup ring, & a wear ring left over.
Not sure where you're located but in OKC theres a place called sealco. They have/can get just about any seal you need . You just take in your disassembled cylinder or go in and give them your make model serial and which cylinder, and they get you everything you need.
Hi Nige yes its a 9t2520 thanks for the advice

Its things like this that got UPS invented LOL
Nige glad you came up with the p/n cat didnt have any kits listed for that cyl
They obviously can't read their own publication PEXP1020-06 - "Hydraulic Cylinder & Seal Reference Guide" ............
