Have a john deere 300b backhoe, and the problem i have is that the hydraulic oil is mixing or leacking into the engine lub oil. I have no clue as what could be causing this problem. Is there anyone with a clue? thanks

Are you sure its hydraulic oil and not diesel fuel.

Not that familiar with a 300b, Do you have a direct mount hydraulic pump, or steering pump? A seal in those will cause this. Otherwise, you just need to find where the too systems come closest together.

No,is certainly hydraulic oil,the extra oil i drained out of the engine,is the the same amount i'm short in the hydraulic tank. Thanks

well Mitch, this machine only has the engine to drive hydraulic pump connected by a coupling from the damper, everything else is contained in the back unit that operates everything, the engine and hydraulics is separated by the machines clutch, although i noticed two small lines connected to the front of the engine, coming from the small bleader tank above the radiator.Could this be where the leak is? Thanks Mitch
