Hydraulic pin grabber question

cor21e · 2025-03-10 21:47

My machine does not have a pin grabber. I would like a manual one but can only find hydraulic ones. This sounds crazy but would a simple hand pump with a double action work for opening and closing a pin grabber? The professional way has alot of tees and solenoids and stuff. These 2 way hand pumps are like $100. And provide a couple thousand psi. Enought to keep a pin grabber closed??

just buy the manual version with a bolt instead of a cylinder and you just thread it open out closed with a wrench and socket

I just did a google search for "manual pin grabber quick attach 50 sized excavator", and the links are everywhere for manual couplers. here's two examples: Mini Excavators Quick Hitch Couplers | Rhinox Group US Increase the speed at which buckets can be switched out with Rhinox's quick hitches. Available for a range of excavators, shop online at Rhinox Group US today. rhinox-group.us Geith® Manual Quick Coupler | BHE Attachments Boost mini excavator versatility with Geith's Manual QR Quick Coupler from BHE Attachments. User-friendly, reversible, and easy to install. bheattachments.com I've not heard of either of those two. but the fact remains: manual pin grabber couplers are easily found.

Hydraulic quick couplers are easy to to install, takes maybe 6 hours. They will stay tight with positive retention vs the mechanical that come loose without frequent adjustment
