Hydro axe 511e front differential questions

Hydroaxe 511e femco mulching head. My problem is the front axle quit pulling im not real familiar with the operation of the machine and neither are the owners. Operator says he was mulching and went to push the pile and only the rear wheels spun. I picked the machine up and the left front wheel will free spin easily but can hear noises like axle shaft gear noise. Right wheel is harder to turn and while turning the right side the left wheel will jump kinda. My question is this. Is there a lock for the front axle on this machine that could have failed etc. Does anyone have any information on the front axle break down or disassembly etc. The axle looks like a john deere out of a 444e but not certain. I really appreciate anyone that can help

Simply, just about anything in the differential could fail and do that, either axle shaft could do that. If I had to guess, I would start on the left side. The right side being hard to turn sounds about right, and the left axle should turn as you turn the right. A broken axle, or that end of the differential will make it easier to turn the left wheel.

Ok i kinda suspect the left front axle. Can you get the axle shaft out without taking the housing apart? Do you know of a good part source. Called john deere equipment they said not available anymore etc. Caterpillar couldn't look it up.

Get the part number and machinery trader part search? Once you get the number, it's harder for the phone answerer at JD to say they don't have it to get rid of you.

Would anyone here happen to have an electrical schematic for these machines? Or service manual
