Which of these 2 korean brand excavators do you think is a better choice and why? Comparison, advantages, disadvantages, gps, fuel consumption, etc.
Well mate really it comes down to what size machine you are getting and also who is going to offer you the best support in your local area? there is a few more things you should be looking at first before buying.
30 to 45 ton machine, we have local support from both dealers. Thank you
i love hyundai's they're smooth, powerful and the general feel of them is so nice.
Well i know some blokes that had a few 50ton hyundai's about 8 years ago and had a lot of problems with them but in saying that they have come a very long way since then and i know a lot of poeple with them now and are happy with them but they are using smaller diggers about 20 ton in size. About doosan i have not heard good or bad about them other then about the plastics in the cab's and small things like that.
Funny you should ask, our local dealer had me to the doosan training centre in tucson two weeks ago to try the machines out. The 350 excavator was very fast and strong, how ever I found the 480 a bit of a dog.they loaders were quite strong an seemed well built too. The hoes use kawasaki pumps which are good units, and I think the 350 had an isuzu power plant if I recall.
in Australia the Doosan excavators have Doosan power plants in the 340 and 480 http://www.doosance.com.au/uploads/2008/10/dx340lc_en.pdf http://www.doosance.com.au/uploads/2008/10/dx480lc_low.pdf
on second thoughts, ive just heard from a mechanic that most of the hyundai's hes serviced have major cracks throughout the main body supports and frame
Got a mate with a 'high and wide' spec Doosan 300, on forestry roading loves it. 3rd one hes had runs them to 7000hrs with no problems then replaces them. Hyundais seem ok 110 and 210 are good machines. Alot depends on dealer backup. Both here are good.
only seen one hyundai around, ran several daewoon / doosans. Almost bought one, seem like good machines for the money. Just cause it says cat doesnt mean you get to charge more...
I know when my mate got his first korean digger; a Halla 280, he also looked at a cat 330. He said even if the halla was only worth scrap price at 6000hrs he was till 80k better off with the halla. And yeah those 3 letters cat, don,t let you charge anymore !
