I Want One!!

Heres a few pics of a pond Job I'm currently on. I am trying out a Tracked Skid Steer on this project, due to the amount of overhanging trees and vegetation around the top of the pool and fairly restricted working space. These are a real rarity in the UK, but I don't know why? The performance is nothing short of astonishing, handling the heavy clay and steep slopes with ease. Everyone has begged a go on it and all look like a pro after 10 minutes, due to the easy to use contols and vision of the bucket. Leaves me looking for applications to use this again, as I'm certain there would be real good money to be made in the right circumstances. Leaves me begging for a go on a Takeuchi 150 which looks like a monster compared to this one. I posted a few more pics of this job in Dirtmans Thread if you want a look, but thought it polite to now start my own.

Skid steers are fun ... for a while you'll feel what I'm talking about after being on one for about 8 hrs! Handy little machines huh!, get a takeuchi 150 and it will do laps around the cat. I give you credit, you have big cahonies to be on a hill that steep sideways with a CTL

the 287 and 287B's are just awesome machines, i don't know what they replaced them with in the new lineup but i'm sure they are great.

Naw, he just doesn't know any better Good on you Eddie. It is wierd the way we dont utilise them in this country :beatsme A very useful tool, what time you got the downpour booked for :drinkup

in my honest opinion a CTL is the swiss army knife of the equipment world...there is always a better tool for a certain job but never a certain tool that can do as many jobs acceptably well

i once operated a positrack RC50, I had never been on any type of skidsteer or tracked loader before and within min was very comfortable spreading 200m3 of compost underneath trellis's. it was so simple and yet very precise in all aspects, smooth mmmmm did i mention it was so SMOOTH. the bucket was too small for the light compost i was shifting but that made the job last longer lol the only problem i had was the 4 bolts on top of the cab were catching the wires in the trellis and breaking them so using some inch water pipe bent over the cab in a wide arch solved that fast (i had to get in the cab and they then fastened the pipe in place meant for a slow escape but it worked well)

the takeuchi 150 is a tank but after you've run the cat you might not like the ridge track system:beatsme

the bobcat T300 is a pretty tough machine, its one of the stongest lil loaders ive used

Side Tip Sam! Just a few pics of finishing of the pool, including the sight that greeted me after the tractor driver came over the hill waving his arms. Hence his new name!! Sad to see the little Tracked Skid steer go, it could be a real money earner if you could educate people over here. The Cat 312 is a really useful tool, especially with the tilt bucket on. Going back to lay some pipes at the same place, and the dig could get to around 20ft so should be some fun.
