One of the funnest things about this job is coming up with other ways to do things. Grapple jaw- ears bent. No machine in the yard, no pull ram, press not an option.

Problem is now days some of the safety Nazis would have you fired for doing things like that. Where I worked we had homemade jack stands we used for 40+ years with never a failure or close call. Well one day they decided that we could not use anything other than factory made jack stands, cost the company thousands of dollars. Then there is the paranoid reaction to anyone seen using a "Cheater Pipe" I could never see how it is safer to try pulling 100 pounds on the end of a 4 foot breaker bar than the same breaker bar with say a 8 foot pipe and only needing an easy 50 pound pull.
