Call to rubber tired buncher with a T4i Cummins 6.7. Complaint, black smoke and air filter minded pegged out. Short life on the current filters. These are newer style air filters. Pull the outer filter and the side the air enters is stopped up with an oily dirt pack. The inner filter looks clean but is completely saturated with oil. So then I am trying to figure out how oil got in the air filter. The engine runs smooth, with no codes esp for crankcase pressure. There are no places for blow by to enter the air intake. And no visible blow by or oil in the end if the tube. Hard to see the oil with my phone camera but this is the inner filter that is just dripping with oil. So I cut the outer filter open and the middle of the outer looked relatively clean in the middle and again stopped up right at inlet of the filter. The I realized that the clean blue part if the filter looked clean but was oily as well, just that the oil had been filterer in the element ,was clean and had collected in the finer micron inner filter. The pre cleaner is inside the pump / engine compartment. Well looking around all the hoses and pumps are just dusty with no signs of a oil leak, hydraulic or engine. So the oil has to be entering the air intake as a mist. Now to find what is causing the misty oil !!!
