Is the Waratah 622b to big for a John Deere 2054? The logs being processed will be let's say I-5 corridor tree farm wood..... TIO

No ! …. it's not to big ….. a friend of mine has that exact combo u'r asking about with over 17,000 hrs on it …. he also has a 210 Volvo with the 622B head and a Komatsu 200 with a 622 …… can't quote the year of his but it is still painted JD Yellow, high walker, Forestry Cab …. where as the newer 2054's are now the darker Ag Green … hope this helps a bit

The 2054 has plenty of flow for the 622B BUT.... You also need to consider the extra weight and stress on the rotek, pins, bushings and hydraulic oil heat as they have small oil tanks. It can be done and is done often but a 2454 or 2554 is a better match.

Have a ton of them running up here in BC. Make sure it has the auxiliary hyd cooler.

100's and 100's of them out there. great machines, we had a hitachi 200 forester with 622b, now we have 3-2154's, even better. just make sure they have aux coolers
