Is this a late model D7F with 3306 and High Speed PS transmission?
The S/N plate in your first photo is for the hydraulic control, not the tractor. What's the tractor S/N.?
Whats the deal with a high speed transmission never heard of that before
This is the only SN they gave me. I will see if they can get me the correct one.
late 69 early70 2 valve hyd control. may be a 94N tractor Bob
Just out of curiosity, why all the questions on this old iron? Are these tractors for sale, or just sitting around and you're interested in them??
They are for sale and I don't know much about them. Checking on info before I driver a long distance to look at them.
Early D7F's used the same transmission as the D7E, but the early D7F was fitted with an engine that does around 2000rpm, while the D7E had an engine that did around 1200rpm. As such there is a legend that the D7E transmission when running at the higher rpm's was unreliable. What the actual cause was I do not know, possibly either lubrication issues or people changing gears at full RPM might have caused problems. So they did a redesign of the transmission and made it smaller and it was extremely reliable.
Looks like a pretty clean dozer but might need some undercarriage work in the near future. Sprockets look pretty pointed and grousers on one side appear to be higher than the other side. That could just be camera angle though.
They finally sent me the SN 094N06857
Looks like it has the good engine and transmission
Looks pretty well cared for, the rails look pretty thin.
