ISO/AW46, Cat Hydo Avdanced 10 hyd. oil

Should probably call the previous owner on this one. Don't know what is in the hydraulic tank but suspect from the way the lift cylinders are leaking it is the cheapest available option. Anyway, from ISO46, AW46, Cat Advanced 10 and from what I am reading 10W motor oil... short of draining and starting over, does it hurt to mix hydraulic fluids? And, is 10W motor oil really an option?

What is it going in? The leaky cylinders most likely don't have a thing to do with the oil just need repacking. 10W motor oil is comparable to AW32.

Is this for your D4D..? If so then any good commerical SAE10W (ISO 32) hydraulic oil will do the trick. Don't waste your money on Cat oil.

Sorry, yes, my D4D. The previous owner told me the gland nuts leaked so that was expected. Have a pad to build-up and level for a metal building after which the Cat can be parked and plans made for what to fix before spring. In the mean time, if the current ills can be endured for a couple more hours of work... In the mean time, what I was looking for is what sort of hydraulic oil to use/pour-on-the-ground. Is SAE10W/ISO32 and AW32 the same thing or, put another way; if I find one priced right, it'll work?

ISO AW32 contains anti-wear additives, that's the only difference between it and a "standard" formulation ISO 32 oil.
