IT 24F wont start

Wastepro ยท 2015-07-13 09:39

Hey everybody, My IT24F wont start today. I have 12+ volts at each battery, 24V at the starter, lights on the dashboard. When you turn the key nothing but a very small click by the motor. Doesn't turn over or make any other noise. Fuses are good, and the machined ran fine last time we run it about a week ago. If anyone has some suggestions Thank you.

What happens to the lights on the dash when you turn the key to the start position..? Do they go dim (even slightly) at the same time you hear the click..? Maybe a dumb question but is the park brake on and the shifter in neutral..?

I checked parking brake on and off positions and checked in the forward/reverse/neutral positions. Lights do not go dim at all, and the parking brake light works when the brake is engaged. Other electrical systems work fine such as the cabin fan, wipers, lights, etc.

In that case you ought to be looking at the cable connections for tightness in and around the starter motor area as a kick off, then move right back along the system until finally you reach the batteries. Also don't forget to check/clean the ground cable from the engine block to the chassis. If they all check out then it is likely the problem lies in the starter motor itself.

Took the starter off, and it was still in the engaged position. Smelled burnt up so replaced it with new starter motor and bam she fires right up. Problem is I could hear the new starter motor was still engaged and would likely burn up again. Shut power to machine and then cut off machine at fuel solenoid as the key wouldn't cut it off. I must have a wiring issue that is not allowing the starter to disengage. Any thoughts or had this problem before?>??

Doe anyone have a wiring diagram for this machine? I have had broken wires before and wondering if thats the problem. Other thought was maybe the fuse box got wet? we had a big rain before this most recent trouble.
