Installing an ITR brand track chain on my JD excavator. Chain master pin comes with a locking pin shaped like a 3" allen wrench about a quarter inch in dia. It drops freely through a whole in the end of the master pin. Is this locking pin suppose to just be bent over to keep it from falling out? Welded in place? The long end of the "allen wrench" cut off after bending?
Just bend it over and leave it be.
