I suspect I've having grounding issues. Can anyone tell me where all the grounding wires can be found on this model, aside form the obvious battery ground? Also, the wire from the ignition that plugs into the back of the alternator to "excite" it, is not sending power to the alternator when the ignition is on. Fuses all test find. Any thoughts on that?
Post a picture of the back of your alternator and I or someone else will make some suggestions as to what to check. Do you have access to a multimeter. Your saying it does not charge is my suspicion. What do you have for a schematic on it, if not, a picture of the bottom of the key switch could help. Some units power the alternator for excitation through an oil pressure switch so that when no oil pressure battery does not drain. Give more info and maybe we can help. Simon C
Usually the power that feeds alternator to excite it comes from the ignition terminal of the key or is powered by a computer which you may or may not have. If it is too hard to fix harness problem, there is the option to send power from a wire off of the ignition terminal to the alternator excitation terminal through an oil pressure switch so that the battery does not go dead if key left on. More than one way to fix. Simon C
