Hi everyone. I have a 2002 jcb js 130 track excavator. The final drive is not working, and if i have it on a hill and pick up the good side the broken side will free roll down the hill. I took it apart and the outer planetaries and ring gear look fine, but i can't get the inner planetaries out. when i put power to the motor the shaft seems to turn fine. Any ideas what it could be. Thank You
do you have metal contamination in the gear oil you drained when removed the out cover plate as this would indicate the reduction or motor shaft broken .as you have a track motor brake in the motor its self so if it runs away without using the tracking levers this would indicate reduction or motor shaft broken you also have cross line releifs on the motor as well from memory so these with the track motor brake should hold it on the slope as you need to pressure up the track brake to release it and spring on .
